Research

SDS Network Research is an international group of researchers and others who share an interest in the knowledge base for self-directed support. 

SDS Network Research brings people together to:

• Share ideas, projects, and developments in self-direction research
• Learn from one another across countries and contexts
• Identify research questions that matter most to communities
• Develop and share innovative, rigorous, and values-aligned research methods
• Build connections that can lead to future collaboration

We want to create a space where research and lived experience come together on equal footing. The group will stay connected to the broader Self-Directed Support Network, building on past meetings and conversations whilst looking ahead to new opportunities.

Anyone interested in self-direction research—whether through academic study, lived experience, practice experience, or a combination—is welcome to join and join and contribute.

We anticipate SDS Network Research will host the following activities:

• At least two virtual convenings per year
• An ongoing Slack channel provided by Citizen Network
• Options for in-person convenings as part of the biennial Global Leadership Exchange and other opportunities as they arise
