Survey: Children and Families Direct Payments

SDS Network England are pleased to invite colleagues working across children’s services, direct payments and social care to help shape a new Children and Families Direct Payments Forum.

Our aim is to create an interactive and practical forum for practitioners, commissioners, direct payment teams and others involved in children’s direct payments. We recognise that, while several direct payment networks already exist, the specific challenges and opportunities around children’s direct payments can sometimes receive limited attention. Practice also varies considerably between local authorities.

We aim to provide a space for colleagues to:

• Discuss the practical challenges of delivering children’s direct payments.
• Share approaches, experiences and examples from different local authorities.
• Explore how direct payments can be used more creatively and flexibly.
• Learn from both operational and commissioning perspectives.
• Build greater confidence and consistency in local practice.
