SDS Network: SDS in the USA
John O'Brien and Robin Cooper share how SDS has evolved in the USA and the lessons therein for other countries.
Simon Duffy interviews John O'Brien and Robin Cooper, who explore how self-directed support (SDS) has evolved in the USA and the lessons therein for other countries.
They explain why - despite the significant benefits of self-directed support - systems still tend to resist or undermine this innovation. They also suggest strategies for leaders to adopt to develop self-directed support with integrity.
This work was carried out as part of the Erasmus+ funded SKILLS project.
